Library Addition

Objective: Design an addition and partial renovation for a small community library, exploring how architecture can meet evolving community needs while respecting the building’s character, scale, and context. The project should express the library’s civic identity and create a flexible, welcoming public space. Proposals must expand program capacity, improve circulation, and enhance environmental performance while preserving the charm and integrity of the original structure.

Design Response: I want to create a safe, tranquil environment that fosters genuine community engagement. The design challenges “formal rules” of many libraries, reimagining it as an inviting, inclusive space where people are inspired to gather, connect, and stay.
